RFID, or “Radio Frequency Identification:”, is a method for wirelessly transferring data. An RFID reader is able to access data from an RFID tag. Many different types of data can be stored in tags and then read by the readers. In the case of RFID Temperature Loggers, the tags are combined with a sensor that records temperature data and allows that data to be accessed by readers. With our Tags, a reader can be a UHF RFID Gun or any smart phone using NFC (NFC or “Near Field Communication” is a subset of RFID). Our Tags can also be started and read by RFID gateways or Fixed readers for high throughput applications.

RFID Tags and RFID Temperature Data Loggers are used through the supply chains of many industries and enable a light-weight, inexpensive way to track the condition of temperature sensitive products and shipments. In addition to logging the temperature history of a shipment, it can also be used to uniquely identify the shipment for asset tracking.

The Tag Tap is available in both the Apple App Store and in Google Play.

A Tag can be started from your smart phone (iOS/Android) by downloading the Tag Tap App and logging in. For Login Credentials contact us at [email protected].

Once you are logged in, select “Start Tag” at the bottom of the screen, select a Profile option for the Tag you want to start, and then move your phone to within a few centimeters of the Tag.

That’s it! The same procedures can be used to read a Tag and upload its data to the cloud by selecting “Read Tag” instead of Start Tag.

The following are a few tips for consistent Starts and Reads from a smart phone:

  • Hold steady and try to minimize movement while reading the Tag
  • Align the top third of your phone with the bottom third of the Tag
  • Hold the phone within a few centimeters of the Tag

Older iOS and Android version may not be NFC compatible.
